Here are a few of our Halloween festivities, backwards since my pictures uploaded weird. Yesterday I was crazy enough to run the Provo HALF MARATHON! Not to brag but I just ran a HALF MARATHON!!! 5 am is a joke for a long run but we headed to University Mall about 6am, caught a bus and then our wonderful bus driver passed the starting line. So at 6:30 am there we were, walking down the canyon just above Aspen Grove by moonlight in about 30 degree weather. Oh well, then we waited til 9 when the race was supposed to start, and waited and waited. They were still busing some of the nearly 3,000 people that ran the race up to the start. So they finally started the race and we started running down the canyon, passing the busses that were driving up. Being a Halloween race we dressed up .....

I put myself in the 10:18 minute mile pace group but within a mile it felt way too slow so I spent most of my time right behind the 9:55 minute group. I felt great. My 10k time came right in at 58 minutes which was where I wanted to be. This is about mile 10. It was SOOO pretty. Much of the trail was completely covered with leaves. The weather was perfect the whole time.

It hurt to stop. I felt great, even got a boost at the end when I started seeing the crowd but once I stopped running my legs started hurting so bad. My calfs knotted up on me and today my quads are super sore. But I did it!!!!!! 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 11 minutes, exactly 10 minute miles. It was my slowest race but my longest so I'll take it.

Once again my boys came to cheer me across the finish line. Thanks for the support guys.

We got home and chilled for a little then headed to the ward party. Brooks was supposed to be a monkey but wouldn't leave his ears on. He had way too much candy but that's what the days is all about right?

Trace was Mr. Smee

Chris pulled out his kilt

And Kayden was Captain Hook

This is HALF the loot they came up with after trick or treating for just over an hour.

Kayden had a Halloween Parade at school. Always fun to see him march around the gym with his friends acting super cool.

Trace had a little Halloween program at school. They sang a few songs and a few poems about Halloween. It was super cute.

And this is why he is a monkey..............no costume needed. That is an entire bag of shredded wheat.

This is Kayden with his 1st grade teacher Ms Richards. Brooks and I got to go with him on his field trip a few weeks ago.

We've also had a lot of fun diong Halloween crafts. We made a boo box and decorated each side of the box with different scary halloween scenes. It took an entire Sunday afternoon and was super fun.

We've had a great October and look forward to Thanksgiving.....and to be able to walk without limping again.
