August Rush

And by that I mean all we've done this month is rush from thing to thing! It's all been good so I figured I'd better play catch up. We started the month off on the 1st by my brother and his wife Jen being sealed in the SLC Temple. It was a great weekend with lots of family and fun. They are a great couple! My boys love it when papa comes in town, their new tradition is to make 'sticky popcorn' aka caramel corn. This was great fun until Kayden took the top off the popcorn popper about halfway through, so we had popcorn hitting the ceiling! It was quite fun.
We've also been enjoying a ton of veggies and fruit from our garden. Our poor apple tree lost 2 branches cause I didn't get around to pulling the apples off before they weighted them down too much. I look forward to a few apple pies in the near future.

We've been getting this much about every 3 days so I'm learning how to can tomatoes! And we LOVE BBQ zucchini, zucchini bread, muffins, brownies and anything else we can slip it into.

I love these yummy banana peppers and will eat them right off the stem!

Our first watermelon! We have probably 6 or 7 now that look so yummy!

Then August 3rd I headed off to camp, back and forth for 5 wonderful, long days. We had wonderful friends and family take the boys every afternoon and I headed up for the afternoon/evening festivities. This is my 3rd Stake camp and I love every one of them, but am so so tired afterwards! I came home and got a bad sinus infection and mastitis so the next two weeks were pretty rough, but no rest cause then we had Chris's sisters wedding on the 14th. They did a BBQ/bowling night instead of a formal wedding dinner. It was fun, much more fun for the kids I'm sure.
Their reception was at the Point at Hunstman Cancer Institute. I had never been there but it was a beautiful place. There was a cool storm that came in that night and it was cool to watch.

Chris has 3 brothers and the one sister, she married into a family with 4 boys, no sisters. Now do you see why I have 3 boys? Love it! They looked so handsome!!

The boys loved the live band and busted a move for over an hour on the dance floor.

The next day Chris headed over to my sis Shan new house. They had moved the day before while we were at the wedding festivities so he helped with some jobs around the house. The boys LOVE the huge pile of dirt in their unfinished backyard and will be heartbroken when it is gone. They spend most of their time out here when we are there. But it's fully fenced so I'm happy.

They came ready to work but it didn't last too long.

We also had the privilege of going to our dear friends baby blessing. Amy and Aaron Schauers blessed their angel Alexis last weekend. We've all been waiting for this for years and it was the perfect day! I wish I had pics because it was wonderful.

So with all of this, plus regular calling commitments, planning a trip to Martin's Cove for Trek training in 2 weeks, adding more piano students with school starting (17 now), and getting my own kids ready for school....I need a break! My house has never been dirtier, the laundry takes longer to do, dishes stay in the sink for longer, and my baby is rolling over and they are all growing up WAY too fast. I've had a hard time finding a balance between wanting to stay caught up with things and just sitting down to read our play with the kids, but at the end of the day the to do list is still there, while they are a day older. So if you come over, please don't look at the dust, or piles of laundry, or the lawn that isn't mowed, just look at my cute kids!!!

Wow what a month you've had! So fun though I'm sure. I LOVE that picture of Kayden in his tux, what a model.
