Thanksgiving 2011

This year we headed down to the Land of Enchantment for green chili, pizza, breakfast burritos, no really to be with family and celebrate my little brother's wedding reception the Sat after Thanksgiving. But we did have a lot of green chili:) These are out of order but here we go.

Trace wanted in on the funny picture action and I love it!

We had a lot of wedding cake left over and it was THE BEST chocolate cake I have eve had. We wrapped it up nice and put it in the laundry room for safe keeping, but somehow I ended up out there with a mysterious fork in my hand a few times........and I wasn't alone :)

We love to play games at Nana and Papa's. They have great cushy carpet and lots of fun toys for us.
The boys play slap jack.......for hours. And someone always ends up bleeding. Seriously

Kayden enjoyed playing a 'real' piano and I loved listening.

Papa has a really cool fish tank that is a huge hit with the grand kids. He took them all to Petsmart one morning and we spent quite awhile checking out the dogs, cats, birds and Brooks new favorite animal......turtles!

Trace thinks he wants a gerbel, I think Mom will not clean up after 'his' pet so I don't really see it in his future :)

Brooks and Jonah loved playing in the tub together a few times

Okay reception day. I have a sister on a mission in Thailand so we printed off a picture and fun passing it around during the festivities. Mom and Dad miss her so much! And we all know she is not one to pass up chocolate cake :)

Here is the backdrop that my parents made 10 years ago fro my wedding. They've made little improvements along the way but it always adds just the right touch whether inside or outside. All we have to do is put the right color flowers and bows on and it looks great.

All the grandsons chillin out watching the wedding video.

The wedding cake was at the center of the room. They were on top of these vases filled with fresh oranges and cranberries. It looked very cool.

My mom had this amazing idea (on her own, no fb or pinterest) to do a dropped ceiling in the gym. She had so much satin fabric I couldn't believe it. We spent about 8 ours total decorating, and only about 2 hours cleaning up :) For a gym, it looked incredible. The basketball hoops were totally covered, the score board was totally covered and for a minute you forgot you were in a church gym (which is hard to do ).

This was the first step, lots of rope, a few metal pulleys, a few hoola hoops and lots of lights and satin fabric. We looped 8 different sections of satin on hoola hoops then hoisted them up and pulled them out to the edges of the room where my dad had hung heavy rope as well. It was quite the project but was amazing to watch the transformation.

We love to play games, which means we have a lot of messes with the little kids playing with those games :)

We did a little Black Friday shopping........

And Nana and Papa bought a new easel for 'pictionary' but it was quickly claimed by the kids.

We had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner of course with all the fixins. And the leftovers were just as good :)

We had a few adventures too. Papa came in one night with something under a big towel. He told a story how he had gone to a church meeting over the east side of the mountain and there was a little girl with a lizard at the church. She didn't know what to do with it so my dad took it and set the boys all up with this new pet !!!!! Yep we are now the proud owners of a blue tailed lizard named Alex :) We've had fun watching the hunt of eating live crickets, keeping his cage clean and water filled, and the boys loving watching him shed his skin and get used to them holding and petting him. I guess I'm fine with anything in a cage but still a big surprise to come home with another pet :)
