Poor Brooks went through a few weeks where he tried his hardest to skip his nap. I would try my hardest but after an hour or more of a fight in the rocking chair, the crib, reading books, singing songs, and almost falling asleep myself it would then be time for piano lessons. I would give up, go teach for a few hours and meanwhile he would run around like a crazy Indian. A few times I found him curled up in random places sound asleep. But that wasn't until 4 or 5. Which doesn't work for an 8 o'clock bedtime. This was also the same few weeks where he would climb out of his crib, at all hours of the night. I know this sounds like child abuse but we ended up putting a child lock on his door so he couldn't get out (he has since learned to open all doors, child lock or not). He had to cry it out, and I will sadly admit spent a few nights on the floor by his door, even with his chubby little hands stretched out underneath. I hated it, but after a few long nights, and even longer days he is back to a better routine.
This was one of his long days, following a short night. So cute!!!

Love it! So cute!!!
So cute! I love how he smiles when he realizes everyone's caught him falling asleep. Those naptime battles are the worst. I ended up duct taping the child doorknob thingie on Elijah's door so he couldn't get it off. He was NOT happy about that. :)
Bah-ha! That video is hilarious!!
