Orange Christopher Jensen

That's right....the Jensen family entered the world of 'pets' this week and Kayden is losing sleep with excitement. We were having trouble wanting to do homework at the beginning of the year so I came up with the brilliant plan of 'if you work hard and get 100% on 10 spelling tests, then you can go get a present.' He worked really hard and almost every week day we did spelling practice. I had to get creative to get him to still want to so we found a few cool webpages where I could enter the spelling words each week and he could play different games with them. We played hangman using the words, we spelled them with the fridge magnets and we would read books and yell crazy when we saw a spelling word in the book. I think his favorite thing was I put a layer of sugar on a cookie sheet and he got to spell in the sugar.

Anyway, so last week he got his 10th 100% so we were off to Walmart.....and came home with a fish. Kayden proudly named him Orange Christopher Jensen. He feeds him faithfully, talks to him more than I'm comfortable with, and Chris and I are patiently waiting the day for the poor fish to turn sideways. Not really but it's a goldfish...how long do they really last?

Until then Kayden is thrilled and we are proud of him for working hard and achieving his goal.
