The Thoo (Zoo)

I'll stop writing like Trace talks one day, but for now I'm finding it pretty cute. My little sis Beth stayed the week with us so I decided to take advantage of her and have some fun! I read about some of you women going places with 3 and 4 and 5 kids, I'm not that brave. So with the extra help we headed off to the Aquarium for one day (can't find my pics) and the zoo for a day. It was a lot of fun, we hadn't been there in almsot 2 years and they've added quite a few things and made it even nicer. There is plenty of shade and with a picnic lunch and a snowcone we were able to enjoy 5 hours of pure animal enjoyment! We didn't even make it all the way through, but it was getting hot so we bailed about 3:30. We saw a very cool bird show and the elephants get a bath!

I'm way behind on blog reading (much less posting!) but I just read through all your old posts. I'm so sorry to hear about Trace's mishap! Those things are so scary. When K1 was 2 he broke his leg - a spiral fracture on his right femur - and had to be in a near full body cast for the rest of the summer. I remember feeling so depressed about it. It's so hard to watch your children go through things. But this will definitely be one of those fun memories you share for years to come! :) I also loved your reflections after attending that young girl's funeral - I often find I wish I had more time to just sit and play with my kids. It's one of the reasons I love summer so much because everything just seems so much more carefree and family-oriented. Thanks for the good reminder!
