I Love to See the Temple

We decided today to attempt the Draper Temple Open House. We have tickets for friday evening but have heard the wait gets to be 3-4 hours in the evening and weekends, plus Chris took the day off so, I took a few fruit snacks and an apple and hoped for the best.

This was after about an hour and a half, all the fruitsnacks and finishing off the apple. We'd been in 3 'waiting' rooms just moved from room to room thinking it was our turn to load the bus. Trace really was going that stir crazy.

Kayden got really good at Tetris on Chris's phone.

Finally! And the boys were soooo excited to ride a bus all the way up the hill. Kayden kept saying how he felt like he was on top of the world we were so high up. Once Trace could see the temple he said' there's Captain Moroni blowing in the trumpet come to my temple!'

And then there were more lines, another 30+ minutes once we were there. Luckily they were both very excited to go in and did pretty good.

I really wanted a family picture in front of the temple but they didn't have any spots to do that. I quickly snapped these 2 right before we boarded the bus and took off for home. For FHE we talked about the temple's and why they are so important and their favorite parts etc. We asked them to draw pictures of their favorite things......... Sorry the text is so small but I think if you click on it you can see it better.

Trace is our abstract artist, but he pointed out all the right things in this 'picture.'

Those pictures that Kayden drew are so sweet.

We still haven't made it yet. I'm hoping we can get in Friday night. Do you have tickets? I've asked Jim to get some approximately 23 times... :)

Wow! We had a whoppin' 5 other people on our tour last Wednesday. We walked in, watched a movie, walked into the gym, sat down, got up, got on the bus, did the tour, ate some cookies, took a bus back to the car and went home. Good thing, because I didn't bring fruit snacks or apples and we had to do it between nursing feedings. Worked out. But of course, forgot the camera.

You all look great!

That experience sounds familiar, almost exactly actually, to ours.
