Thanksgiving 2008

We headed down to Albuquerque the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This is pretty much a travel log, for my 'journal' right?

DAY ONE

My youngest sister Beth has a good friend investigating the church so every Sunday night he and the missionaries come over for FHE. My mom was in charge and of course it was awesome. Poor Trace didn't last through the movie for the activity but it was still fun. We watched the old seminary movie of Armor of God then Kayden got dressed up in his armor. Everyone took turns blowing Q-tips through straws to try and hit him, he loved it!
DAY TWO
My mom was willing to watch the boys so Chris and I could have a get away to Santa Fe for 2 days. It's not even an hour drive so it was a great escape! We left Monday morning and spent the early afternoon at an outlet mall, yaaaa!! Then we headed into old town, went to a movie and of course had excellent Mexican food for dinner. I was horrible at taking pictures of these 2 days, bummer because I love the Spanish style of Santa Fe.

DAY THREE

Tuesday we got up and walked around the square. We toured a beautiful cathedral. It was the 400th Anniversary so they were doing some renovation but it was still very nice.

One of my favorite things in the Spanish culture are these street vendors selling beautiful, handmade turquoise jewelery. I rarely buy anything but I love to look.
Yes! I haven't seen a wiener mobile in years!! We finished our break off with a wonderful temple session and some more Mexican food!

DAY FOUR

Why do we love grandparents so much? Because there is a game or a craft or a treat around every corner. The boys were loving doing puzzles, playing pool, making rice crispie treats, playdoh, crayon stain glass, and on and on. I have a lot to live up to now that they're home and bored already.

Who doesn't love a great DDR song?
It was a tough choice between Trace's favorite activities, wrestling with Papa or playing pinball.

DAY FIVE

Turkey day! We of course spent the day cooking and playing games. My fam has never done the 'Black Friday' thing and I was introduced to it last year with some good friends and thought it was a lot of fun. So we spent a little bit of time going through the ads and finding the deals we couldn't live without.

DAY SIX

BLACK FRIDAY!!! more to come, I need a break
