Scarecrow Festival

We love this activity! We headed to the Scarecrow Festival on Saturday around 10. I was so proud of us for saving coupons and it only cost our family $8! Kayden had seen this trampoline jump ride thing at the state fair and was dieing to do it but we're too cheap to pay for it, but it was free here! He had so much fun, did a few flips and would have stood in line again had it not been a 3 hour wait by about 11:00! Trace even got in on the action which really surprised me because he usually likes his feet on the ground.

My boys can do these bouncy castle things all-day-long. And I think over all we spent about 2 hours on them, well watching them anyway. There were probably 12-15 of them and they loved every minute of it.
We were even cheap enough to pack a lunch, here are the boys being fed grapes by Aunt Shan. What a life! They had probably 20 carnival type games (all free) like ring toss and footballs and airplane games etc. About half of them handed out little Halloween treats, and no candy so I was happy!
There were also these cool pedal go cart things, and with Spiderman at the end of the raceway who wouldn't want a ride!!
These were so cool and Chris has been trying to figure out how to make them. For $1 (only thing we paid for besides $1 popcorn and 2 snowcones at the end of the day) they got to make 'rockets.' Just construction paper rolled around a little piece of foam but then you put them on top of this PVC type contraption that was hooked to a compresser, push the button and seriously these things went so high you couldn't see them until they started coming back down!! It was awesome.
We finally sat down in the shade and had a snow cone and watched a juggling act and poor Trace just crawled up on daddy's lap and was out like a light, for about 2 hours. After 6 hours of playing in the sun we all wanted a nap! It was a wonderful day.

where is that, anyway?
looks like fun

One thing I do notice is that for all of your fun activities, it seems you always have other family members along. That must help when you need back-up reinforcements for child control.
That must be why we don't do these things.
We can't handle our kids on our own. :)

That looks like so much fun. I like living vicariously through you. I tend to think that I would do something fun like that, but alas, we don't.
