Grandparents & Apples

I hate thinking of names for posts. Basically I forgot my camera at every activity this past weekend. My parents and sister Beth flew into town last Wed night for the BYU Homecoming weekend. Thursday we spent walking around BYU reminiscing of the 70's when they attended and of course hit the bookstore, creamery and Heaps (Brick Oven now) pizza. If that wasn't enough food by the end of the weekend we had make homemade caramel corn and homemade oreos as well.

Friday we went to Gardner Village (so cute this time of year, love it!) then to the BYU Spectacular, which was, well Spectacular. Saturday everyone braved the weather but me and went to the game. It's always so much fun to have them in town and my boys go through serious withdrawels when everyone leaves.

My mom had gone to her sisters in ID a few days before and brought back a ton of fresh apples from their orchard so Sunday after everyone had left my sister Bre and I hopped online for apple recipes. This cake was so yummy! We also made an apple granola bread, and I'm looking for an easy applesauce recipe.

Your photo reminded me, I NEED that homemade oreo recipe. I remember you brought them over after I had Elijah and they were divine.

Okay I've been canning applesauce for the past several years...one of my most favorite things because it's so much better than storebought! I'll post the recipe on my blog for you!
