The Boys Room :)

A few months ago we casually brought of the idea of moving Kayden and Trace downstairs. They seemed pretty excited so I jumped on board of getting to do a new room! I looked and looked for bedding and ideas and didn't want to spend much money. In the end it came together pretty well. I got all the furniture off of KSL and re did it, Chris is so super handy man that he did all the shelves and paint and cool stuff like it was no big deal and it turned out great. Here is what the room was before..... Just a sad mess of a storage room where I'd throw things in and then shut the door. When company came I'd go in and organize and get it straightened up but that didn't last too long :)

We cleared everything out, made a trip or two to DI and de cluttered a few things which I always love. Chris and I would put the boys to bed then head downstairs til late, super late. Okay he stayed up really really late and I usually bailed before midnight :( We had it all done in about 2 weeks!

They were super anxious to see what was behind door #1!!

I had this crazy idea to bolt/glue/whatever a huge piece of sheet metal to a wall. It seems like they are always wanting to hang or glue or tape stuff to their walls so I figured I'd just give them a huge magnet board, like the size of an entire wall! I had the idea and Chris made it happen, beautifully. Then I figured what the heck let's add a nice shelf too :) It never ends with me I'm sure he is thinking.

He added closet shelves too which are super handy with all the little Lego and cars and books they have.

Chris found this super cool ceiling fan at Home Depot like 3 days before Christmas and totally splurged to get it. The light is a globe and the boys will lay down and try to find their way around the world :)

We had found some really cool magnet game sets at the Idaho State Fair this fall. My boys loved them and I had to pull them away from the booth. When we got home I hopped on Amazon and found some for cheaper. It's a 28 piece set of different shapes and designs and they can put them every which way to see if they can get the marbles from the top to the bottom. This has provided hours of entertainment so far :)

These were their old beds. Okay my brothers old beds 20 years ago :) A fresh coat of paint and a few more boards to sturdy them up and we have bunk beds now!! They love them and besides the fact that kayden tried to jump off on day 2 and smacked his head into the fan, and cut it, so far so good.

They love their new room, which also came with a new bathroom since they are downstairs and for me it came with them doing more of the cleaning and laundry since they are on their own:) So far they are holding up to their end of the deal so we'll see!
