Utah Marathon Relay-A family affair

5AM. Yep that's how my day started and it was so stinkin cold, like in the 40's. A few weeks ago I heard about a really fun race-a full marathon shared by 5 people. So everyone runs 5.2 miles. Sounds like the perfect, and the only, way to run a marathon. I talked to a few different people about running it but we couldn't seem to get a team together. Then my neighbor said they had one spot on his team left if I didn't mind being the only girl-fine by me I just wanted to run it. So this group is called the Morning Glories because they run at 5:30 daily-besides me. And the other little bit of info is none of them had ever run 5.2 miles. Seriously what is it about males and females? Anyway, we had a great time. Everyone came in with their fastest pace, myself included. I PR (personal record) at 44 minutes and 26 seconds. It was a great course and a beautiful day. I was the last runner so I had a few hours to kill. I learned that they were doing a 1 mile kids run so I called Chris about 8 and said wake up the boys and bring them on over. Kayden and Trace ran it with their little friend Sam.

Brooks was stuck in the stroller most of the morning but was so stinking cute the whole time.

Trace came across first all by himself and was pretty serious about it all.

Kayden followed not far behind and was very proud of his first race being finished!

We all got 26.2/5 medals and as you can see Trace is in love with his, really it hangs on his bed.
I love that my boys have these healthy habits. There is a family 5k we are doing this next weekend together too.

Turns out there were over 2 teams worth of people from my ward that ended up running. It was fun to all be there and do it together.
